 On October 21, 2003, Judge Posner and the Seventh Circuit issued Mathias v. Accor Economy Lodging, Inc. (Case No. 03-1010), in which a punitive damages ratio of 37:1 was affirmed.  Click here for the full opinion.

 On November 28, 2001, the Georgia Supreme Court ruled that State Farm must pay "diminished value" in addition to repair costs is property damage claims in State Farm v. Mabry, 274 Ga. 498, 556 S.E.2d 114 (2001)  Click here for the Georgia opinion.

On June 11, 2001, the Georgia Supreme Court denied Certiorari in Merritt v. State Farm, 247 Ga.App. 442, 544 S.E.2d 180 (2000), thus upholding the Court of Appeals decision reinstating Miss Merritt's fraud and RICO claims against State Farm.  Click here for the Court of Appeals decision.
